Ahh shorts. I’m 5’10 and shorts are my enemy. Too short, too long, too tight on the hips, not room for the junk in the trunk, etc etc etc. I mostly stick to capri pants, skirts, and dresses in the summer due to how uncomfortable I am wearing them most of the time. So, when I ended up in the P4P testing group and was assigned shorts…I was dreading sewing them up.
Then the minute I slid the first pair on…..HEAVEN!
I’m wearing SHORTS! Me, Shannon aka Daddy Long Legs…I’m wearing shorts.
And I am going to make more and wear more.
As with all shorts/pants ESPECIALLY those made out of woven. You should really learn how to fit yourself for the best possible fit. I’ve been through so many patterns that I hated that other’s praised upon, all due to me not making some simple adjustments. Once I made some simple adjustments (adjusting for thighs, lower butt, etc) I started to become really comfortable in me made jeans/shorts/outfits that involved some type of fitted pant!
They range in a various of sizes which I do love about P4P.
I really do love these shorts. I think that if you want a quick sew with a nice finish you should definitely pick these up!
For the shorts I used about 7/8 of a rayon blend and had plenty left over. I am planning on making my daughter a matching pair when she gets back from vacation for school.
Also use them as a template for your ideas. I used crochet hem here on the pockets but next time I am going to try something a little bit involving sequins…because you know…sequins = makes everything better
The good part? On sale till tomorrow eeeee!!! Go grab them, the children’s version or the bundle for the best deal.
